The quests themselves are generic but do a decent job of carrying the story forward with a few cutscenes throw in. The starting quests take place over several in-game years and three distinct areas: Mardum, a shattered world of debris and green lava Vault of the Wardens, a prison for Demon Hunters and finally your faction capital city, either Orgrimmar or Stormwind. It’s a short sequence that shows just enough to create a narrative for the player to follow: you’re being sent on a suicide mission and if you fail all worlds will be destroyed. The cutscene takes place during the events of The Burning Crusade and it’s shown in a first-person view with Illidan talking directly to the player. ![]() The Demon Hunter starting experience kicks off with a fully voice-acted cutscene of Illidan commanding his soldiers. Blizzard announced that early access to the new hero class would be granted to everyone that pre-purchased Legion, and three weeks after the release of the pre-expansion patch, the Demon Hunter class was available for play. The amount of abilities on my bars shrunk, my talent choices were changed, and my Hunter was suddenly wielding a melee weapon.ĭespite the changes every class went through, the one thing I looked forward to most was the new class, Demon Hunter. As someone that didn’t participate in Legion tests or keep up to date on World of Warcraft news, it felt like I logged into an entirely different game. The Legion pre-patch released the following day: a large update that contained all the expansion changes. Thankfully, the prospect of an upcoming expansion stopped my face from hitting the desk in regret. It’s been almost a year since I’ve logged into the game but the familiar sight of my characters sitting in their garrisons doing nothing was almost enough to make me Alt+F4. (Demon Hunter glyphs all take Legion mats, so no glyphing anything there if you've preordered 'til Legion proper anyway. As much as I hate to admit it, I always find a reason to come back to World of Warcraft. ![]() There also isn't a Glyph of Detection anymore so if you've got a rogue who's been twiddling their thumbs on getting the Survivor's Bag of Coins you may want to do that now I don't know if they've changed it so you don't need that glyph anymore or it's a book like Fetch (which you also won't be able to pick up 'til Legion proper cos it's sold at the order hall >:(, at least I have a lootarang 'til actual Legion drop) or what the deal is there. Also of note, since I remember there being a very divided opinion on the "new" travel form here back during Warlords PTR/Beta: Glyph of the Stag is gone BUT there's a book at the druid Order Hall that will teach it to you as a "baseline" ability, so you can still carry people around or RP as a stag once Legion drops (though you'll mostly be out of luck between 7.0 drop and then). ![]() Some glyphs (like the Observer glyph) seem to have their drop in old content (Broggok in Blood Furnace, for example) but it still requires the Legion mats to make so probably only something to bother with in advance if you have the downtime to do so. Shadowy Friends (3x Blackfallow Ink, also the fact that Shadow and Shadowy Friends are mutally exclusive is dumb)Įverything else requires Legion mats (Sallow Pigment and Roseate Pigment) and/or is sold/dropped in Legion content. Lesser Proportion (3x Ink of Dreams, RIP no dire beast glyphs 'til Legion proper)Ĭrackling Tiger Lightning (3x Blackfallow Ink) Hunters only have one existing glyph that carries over which is dumb, but here's the list for all classes:Ĭhameleon (Bear form version) (3x Blackfallow Ink) Glyphs made in advance that still exist in Legion DO transfer safely from live to PTR/beta, so if you wanted to purchase or make certain glyphs now to have access to them right away, you could do that. When 7.0 drops the ink trader will stop taking Warbinder's Ink and will require the new Legion ingredients instead, so it may be worth stocking up on the necessary inks if you have a surplus of Draenor herbs or pigments or inks or feel like farming the older herbs while there's not much else to do. Since I was making this list for myself I figured I'd share it since this seems to be the thread to do it, haha.
